Weekly Construction Updates: April 24th-29th
Site 1 (242 Broome Street)
Excavation for the Con Ed vaults for Site 1 will continue on Broome Street. Deliveries to the site will occur throughout the week. Flagmen and pedestrian crossing guards will be provided. Currently, no crane or concrete operations are scheduled. No weekend work is anticipated. Spray fireproofing is continuing in the museum upper floors. The masonry block walls will begin on the roof and bulkhead. Drywall layout will begin on the fifth floor followed by top and bottom tracks and stud framing.
Site 2 (115 Delancey Street)
Site 2 will continue installing structural steel at the 5th and 6th floors. Steel deliveries will occur throughout the week sporadically. Concrete pours are tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, April 25th and Thursday, April 27th. Spray fireproofing will continue at ground level. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing work will continue throughout the sub-cellar, cellar, and ground floor. Installation of masonry block and door frames will continue at the cellar and ground floor. The hoist on Delancey Street is operational and will be jumped sporadically to keep pace with the vertical construction of the building. Backfill operations will continue. Work will continue into Saturday, April 29th. Service connections to the building on Broome Street will be installed throughout the week.
Site 5 (145 Clinton Street)
The upcoming week’s work at Site 5 includes façade brick work, hanging of lintels, and waterproofing of the exterior walls on the Grand Street side. Carpentry work includes hung ceiling framing from 11th-15th floor, sheet rocking on floors 3,7,11 and 15. Lobby fit out and fit out of cellar retail space is ongoing. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work continues on floors 3,7,11 and 15. Gypcrete pouring continues on 9th-10th floors. Sub-frame and window installation from 10th-15th floors is ongoing. Elevator installation work continues for retail, freight, and passenger elevators. General construction work will occur on Saturday, April 29th from 9am to 5pm.
Site 6 (175 Delancey Street)
The coming week’s activity at Site 6 includes window installation on the 2nd & 3rd floor North elevation. Interior framing, drywall, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work continues from the cellar to the 14th floor. Roofing work will continue on the 4th and 5th terraces. ConEd will continue vault work on Broome Street sidewalks within the site fence. Work will continue on Saturday, April 29th from 9am to 5pm.
